Brand lineups
ghd, T3 and Bio Ionic each sell several flat irons and curling tools with different plates, sizes and heat settings. Model names change often, so the lineups are compared by the facts each maker states.
- ghd stylers
- one fixed setting, 365 F (185 C)
- Many pro irons
- adjustable, up to 450 F

ghd stylers such as the Platinum+ and Gold run at a single fixed temperature of 365 F (185 C). That takes the guesswork out, but there is nothing to turn down for very fine hair.
T3 and Bio Ionic use adjustable digital heat on most models, with different plate widths and barrel sizes across the range. BaBylissPRO, CHI and Conair cover a wide price range, from salon titanium irons to budget ceramic ones.
When two models from the same brand look alike, compare plate width or barrel size, heat settings, cord length and auto shut off rather than the model name.
